At Colab Health Group - Balwyn, our exercise physiologists aim to support clients in their transition from health to wellness.

Exercise physiologists are University qualified Allied Health professionals whose knowledge, skills and competencies are specialised in evidence-based movement and exercise interventions to:

  • prevent and manage chronic medical conditions, injuries and pain

  • restore and improve function through safe and effective exercise prescription

  • help you achieve your health, wellness and performance goals effectively and efficiently

As we guide you through a personalised journey that’s tailor-made and suited to you, our exercise physiologist will first undertake a 45 minute initial assessment involving history taking, exercise and performance testing and collaborative goal setting. The information gathered from the initial assessment will be imperative in designing and implementing an individually tailored exercise program to meet your needs. The exercise program will be reviewed (30 minute consult), evaluated and progressed over-time to achieve the greatest outcomes. Our exercise physiology service offers 30 minute one-on-one sessions and 45 minute small group classes (2-4 individuals), both consisting of individualised, supervised and safe exercises to meet your needs. One-on-one sessions are recommended for anyone new to exercise or requiring assistance in developing sound technique with maximum attention. We have state of the art strength training equipment available for our clients. To help our clients stay on track with their rehab, we also provide an individualised app based exercise program for clients to follow at home.

Exercise physiology can also assist with the following:

  • management of osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions
