Clinical Reformer Pilates at Colab Health Group - Balwyn

“Pilates is the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit” — Joseph Pilates
At Colab Health Group, we follow the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) method of Pilates. This method is specifically designed by physiotherapists for use in both rehabilitation and wellness settings. Pilates can be performed either on a mat or on a reformer — a spring-loaded resistance machine that allows for progressive, tailored exercises.
We utilise state-of-the-art Allegro 2 Balanced Body reformers at Colab Health Group. Our sessions incorporate strength, mobility, and stretching-based movements, performed in a fluid and controlled manner. Our aim is to help clients develop body awareness, improve movement quality, and enhance function — all within a supportive and relaxing environment. We also encourage integrating these principles into daily life to support long-term movement health and injury prevention.

We recommend Clinical Reformer Pilates for a wide range of clients, including those in clinical rehabilitation and wellness programs especially pre and post natal women.

Getting Started with Clinical Reformer Pilates at Colab Health Group

New clients wishing to join a Clinical Reformer Pilates group class are required to complete a 45-minute initial assessment with one of our physiotherapists (this step is not required for existing clients).

Following the assessment, all clients will complete 2 x 30-minute one-on-one sessions with a physiotherapist. These sessions are designed to create an individualised program based on your specific goals, and to build your confidence with the required techniques before joining a group class.

Group classes are limited to a maximum of three participants, with each person following their own personalised program.

One-on-one sessions are also available and are charged at the standard physiotherapy consultation rate. Your progress will be reviewed throughout your recommended treatment cycle, which may vary depending on your fitness level, injury type, and personal goals.
